Screen-talk-«It should be night in Caracas»

On March 9, we had the opportunity to screen, at SENTRALEN in Oslo, the powerful film “It Should Be Night in Caracas” and to moderate the discussion with the film’s directors, Marite Ugas and Mariana Rondon.

The film is based on the acclaimed novel by Venezuelan writer Karina Sainz Borgo called “La hija de la Española”(the Spaniard’s daughter).

The event was fully booked, with a highly engaged audience that stayed for a thoughtful discussion after the screening. The discussion was moderated by our Founder, Sonia Zapata and our Ramon Barreto assisted the film directors with translation.

Films like this play a vital role in helping international audiences, especially here in Norway, better understand the human impact of authoritarianism, repression, and the struggle for freedom in Venezuela.
